Baseball Recap: IMG Academy White Has No Trouble Against Gateway

The IMG Academy White Ascenders got the win against the Gateway Eagles on Thursday by a conclusive 8-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.

Noah Coleman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over 5.2 innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Juho Lee was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Owen Armstead, who scored a run while going 3-for-5.

IMG Academy White kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

IMG Academy White's record is now 8-11. As for Gateway, they moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, IMG Academy White will take on Sunshine State Elite Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. IMG Academy White is facing Sunshine State Elite Academy at the right time seeing as Sunshine State Elite Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gateway, they will face off against Cypress Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
