Basketball Recap: Liberty Sets Scoring Season-High Against Parlier

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty). They breezed by the Parlier Panthers to the tune of 91-34 on Tuesday. With the Hawks ahead 49-23 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mauro Farinelli, who posted eight points along with six boards and three blocks. Shane Williams was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points.

Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Parlier, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will square off against Riverdale at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Parlier, they will take on Chowchilla at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Parlier is facing Chowchilla at the right time seeing as Chowchilla is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
