Baseball Recap: South Sumter Comes Up Short

South Sumter was the 10-1 winner over Trenton when they last played one another back in April of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Raiders fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-3 on Monday. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

James Boone was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

South Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Trenton, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

South Sumter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 7-6 win against Trinity Catholic on the 1st. As for Trenton, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-2 victory against Madison County on the 1st.
