Recap: Richmond Red Devils vs. Centerville Bulldogs
In what's become a running theme this season, the Richmond Red Devils gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Centerville, posting a 71-30 win at home. Given Richmond's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Centerville is ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richmond to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Carpenter, who scored 18 points. Carpenter continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Cedric Horton was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Despite the loss, Centerville had strong showings from Trevor Thornburg, who scored 12 points, and Shea Hollendonner, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Richmond's victory bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Centerville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
Richmond's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Centerville's road trip will continue as they head out to face Union County at 7:30 p.m. on January 25th. Union County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
