Basketball Recap: Colmesneil Comes Up Short

Colmesneil lost against Chester back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Colmesneil Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 47-28 to the Chester Yellowjackets. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chester can attribute much of their success to Kyli Handley, who posted 15 points and six steals. Handley is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ty Cochran was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Colmesneil's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Chester, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Colmesneil will welcome Hemphill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Colmesneil is facing Hemphill at the right time seeing as Hemphill is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Chester, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-24 victory against Corrigan-Camden on the 12th.
