Baseball Game Preview: Spring Grove Rockets vs. Susquehannock Warriors

The Spring Grove Rockets will take on the Susquehannock Warriors at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Spring Grove is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past South Western 12-5 on Wednesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Owen Grove was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Parks, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Susquehannock was able to grind out a solid victory over West York Area on Wednesday, taking the game 8-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Luke Whelan looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Susquehannock got a big performance out of Brayden Krebs, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Krebs also hit two doubles, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Nick Bender, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Spring Grove's win bumped their record up to 4-5-1. As for Susquehannock, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Everything went Spring Grove's way against Susquehannock in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Spring Grove made off with a 12-2 win. Do the Rockets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
