Baseball Game Preview: St. James Sharks vs. Myrtle Beach Seahawks

For the first time this season, St. James will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Monday. They will host the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. St. James' hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Friday just wasn't the day for St. James' offense. They fell 3-0 to Wando on Friday.

St. James got a good showing from Jacob Herrick, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Waccamaw on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 3-2.

Myrtle Beach saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gibson Goodroe, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

St. James' loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Myrtle Beach, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

St. James beat Myrtle Beach 10-6 when the teams last played back in April of 2018. Does St. James have another victory up their sleeve, or will Myrtle Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
