Baseball Recap: Tallulah Falls Gets the Win

Tallulah Falls lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Lakeview Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. Tallulah Falls' pitcher stepped up to hand Lakeview Academy a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. Give the Indians' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Cole Bonitatibus tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

On the hitting side, Justin Smith was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Diego Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory got Tallulah Falls back to even at 6-6. As for Lakeview Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-4.

Tallulah Falls will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lakeview Academy: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
