Game recap: Johns Creek High School Football Team takes down Lambert

JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - Johns Creek (Ga.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it ran for a touchdown with under a minute left, bringing the team to victory over Lambert (Suwanee, Ga.) 35-28.

The Gladiators led 14-0 at halftime, but the Longhorns recaptured the lead on a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth.

Johns Creek saw its 14-point halftime lead fall to seven entering the fourth.

JC's most effective player was Fowler. The senior kicked four extra points.

Lambert's Brock Maxwell played well. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown and ran for two touchdowns. His performance brought his touchdown total to eight on the year.

LHS came in allowing just 17.2 points per game this season. The Suwanee school struggled against the Gladiators' offense, which entered the game scoring 30.3 points per game.



When the two teams played each other last season, Johns Creek came away with a 23-0 victory.

The victory was a step in the right direction for JC, which was coming off a 37-16 defeat at the hands of West Forsyth in its previous game.

Johns Creek (6-1) goes up against South Forsyth in a AAAAAA Region 6 game matchup next week, while Lambert (5-2) locks horns with Alpharetta also in a AAAAAA Region 6 game.
