Soccer Game Preview: Hazleton Area vs. Pittston

The Hazleton Area Cougars will head out to square off against the Pittston Patriots at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hazleton Area is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Hazleton Area managed to keep up with Dallas until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cougars lost 4-1 to the Mountaineers.

Meanwhile, Pittston hadn't done well against Wyoming Valley West recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Patriots beat the Spartans by a goal, winning 3-2.

Hazleton Area's loss dropped their record down to 5-11-1. As for Pittston, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7-2 and their overall record up to 3-10-2.
