Baseball Game Preview: Detroit Community Hurricanes vs. Henry Ford Academy Navigators

The Detroit Community Hurricanes will head out to face off against the Henry Ford Academy Navigators at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Detroit Community is coming into the game on a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Friday just wasn't the day for Detroit Community's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to Summit Academy North, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Henry Ford Academy). They put the hurt on Lincoln-King Academy with a sharp 9-2 victory on Friday. The Navigators not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 30, 2024.

Rell White made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. White was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kobe White, who scored three runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-2.

Henry Ford Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Detroit Community's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Henry Ford Academy, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
