Basketball Game Preview: Minneota Vikings vs. Ortonville Trojans

The Minneota Vikings will square off against the Ortonville Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ortonville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Minneota, who comes in off a win.

Minneota is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Canby by a score of 86-74 on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-40, which was the final score in Ortonville's tilt against Central Minnesota Christian on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Bluejays: they've now lost five in a row.

Ortonville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Minneota, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Minneota took their victory against Ortonville in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 86-66. Will Minneota repeat their success, or does Ortonville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
