Ashland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Springfield recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will head out to square off against the Millers at 5:00 p.m. The last five games Ashland has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Saturday, Ashland narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Churchill 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Lancers since May 13, 2023.

Malakai Chandler made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Chandler was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cobain Taylor, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

Ashland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Springfield's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 13-0 to Eagle Point, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Springfield's defeat was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Ashland, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 4-6.

Everything went Ashland's way against Springfield when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Ashland made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grizzlies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
