Softball Recap: West Morris Mendham Minutemen vs. Chatham Cougars        
        
		
            
 West Morris Mendham was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They fell just short of the Chatham Cougars by a score of  5-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to West Morris Mendham of the  5-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in April.
  Emily Schneider put in work while hitting and pitching. She  tossed six innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits. Schneider was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Schneider wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Elease Belenets, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 West Morris Mendham's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Chatham, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 4-12.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Morris Mendham will  face off against Dover at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Chatham, they will head out on the road to  take on  Mount Olive at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
