Basketball Game Preview: Gordo Green Wave vs. Fayette County Tigers

Gordo hasn't had much luck against Fayette County recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Gordo Green Wave will take on the Fayette County Tigers in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gordo is headed into the game having just posted their closest victory since December 19, 2023 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Pickens County 36-33.

Meanwhile, Fayette County waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 59-50.

Fayette County pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Gordo, their win bumped their record up to 2-3.

Gordo came up short against Fayette County in their previous meeting back in February, falling 67-58. Can Gordo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
