Basketball Recap: Claremore Drops Highest Score of Season Against Nathan Hale

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Claremore). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Nathan Hale Rangers 62-12. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 53-16 back in December of 2024.

Claremore got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Toney Gibson out in front who went 7 for 10 en route to 15 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Gibson a new career-high in points. Asia Roper was another key player, going 6 of 15 on her way to 17 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals.

Claremore smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Claremore's victory bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Nathan Hale, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Shawnee the next time they take the court. Claremore will host Shawnee at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Nathan Hale will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on February 14th.
