Life Waxahachie won the last time they faced Venus and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs.

Sienna Okpuzor paced Life Waxahachie's offense, picking up nine kills. Okpuzor got some help from Mikayla Turner and her ten assists. Okpuzor and Turner didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with four apiece.

Despite the loss, Venus saw an underclassman step up: freshman Balari Rico had five digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Rico.

Life Waxahachie is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-18 record this season. As for Venus, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.
