Basketball Recap: Chancellor Takes a Loss

Chancellor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 75-42 loss at the hands of the Caroline Cavaliers. The Chargers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-22.

Defeat or not, Chancellor got some senior leadership from Cash Dodson and Larell Edwards. Dodson posted 11 points and seven boards, while Edwards put up 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Dodson now owns an excellent 45.5% shooting accuracy. Ethan Corbin also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Chancellor's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Caroline, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Chancellor will welcome King George at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caroline, they will venture away from home to square off against Culpeper County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Caroline knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Culpeper County likes a good challenge.
