Softball Preview: Roswell Hornets vs. Lanier Longhorns

The Roswell Hornets will head out to square off against the Lanier Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Roswell's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Johns Creek. While the Hornets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Meanwhile, Lanier got the win against Gainesville on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-2. With that victory, the Longhorns brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Hannah Ridley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
