The Franklin Academy Patriots will square off against the Voyager Academy Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin Academy is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Franklin Academy is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Roxboro Community on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Patriots came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 67-44. Patriots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bulldogs since Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ifrika Akajo dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Akajo is now averaging an impressive 2.3 blocks per game. Erin Collins was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Voyager Academy scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 49-31 fall against Woods Charter.

Voyager Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Franklin Academy took a serious blow against Voyager Academy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 70-36. Thankfully for the Patriots, Jaden McCullough (who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
