Volleyball Game Preview: Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks vs. True North Classical Academy Titans

The Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks will venture away from home to square off against the True North Classical Academy Titans at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Archbishop McCarthy turned things around against St. Thomas Aquinas on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 3-1.

If you add up the scores from across all four sets (91-90) Archbishop McCarthy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for True North Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Immaculata-La Salle 3-0 on Monday. The Titans not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

While True North Classical Academy won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-21, 25-22.

True North Classical Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-8. As for Archbishop McCarthy, their record now sits at 7-8.

Archbishop McCarthy couldn't quite get it done against True North Classical Academy in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Archbishop McCarthy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
