The Richland Royals will head out on the road to take on the Paschal Panthers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Richland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
While Richland's win against Azle wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Royals skirted past the Hornets 4-3.
Cooper Carroll looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Richland's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was LJ Allison, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple was Allison's first of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Paschal). Everything went their way against North Side on Friday as they made off with a 20-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Paschal's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Richland, they now have a winning record of 13-12-1.
Richland skirted past Paschal 5-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
