Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Perry-Lecompton's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Perry-Lecompton unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Maranatha Christian Academy Eagles. The Kaws were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

Paxton Damme paced Perry-Lecompton's offense, picking up six kills. Damme got some help from Emmy Reed and her 11 assists.

Leading Maranatha Christian Academy to victory were Macy Karlin and Abby Nash. Karlin had 13 digs and two aces, while Nash had 19 assists. Nash has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 13 times she's played.

Perry-Lecompton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season.

Perry-Lecompton will square off against Rossville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bishop Seabury Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
