Softball Recap: T.R. Miller Comes Up Short

T.R. Miller extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 16-16-1 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pelham Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-3 on Saturday.

As for Pelham, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-16. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.

For Pelham's part, Rebecca Roy was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Roy has posted since back in March. Taylor Howard was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. T.R. Miller will square off against Blacksher at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pelham, they will welcome Calera at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
