Mesquite waltzed into their matchup on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Marcos de Niza Padres as they made off with a 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on October 1st.

Mesquite's got stronger as the match went on, holding Marcos de Niza to fewer and fewer points set over set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-10.

Mesquite was led to victory by Cami White and Aislinn Barreno-Celedon. White had three digs and two aces, while Barreno-Celedon had 13 digs. Those 13 digs gave Barreno-Celedon a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Marcos de Niza saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sofia Vital had 26 digs and one assist. Vital is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last 13 games she's played dating back to last season.

Mesquite's victory bumped their record up to 24-5. As for Marcos de Niza, they dropped their record down to 6-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.
