Football Recap: Kathleen Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Kathleen extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They came up short against the Sebring Blue Streaks, falling 40-20. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 37-6 to the Blue Streaks when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Kathleen still got an impressive performance from Xavion Mitchell, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.

As for Sebring, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Kathleen is ranked 328th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sebring was led to victory by Brady Pennister and Laquest Brown. Pennister gained 74 total yards and two touchdowns, while Brown threw for 138 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kathleen will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Gibson at 7:30 p.m. on the 10th. As for Sebring, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Booker at 7:30 p.m. The Tornadoes' defense has only allowed 13.7 points per game this season, so the Blue Streaks' offense will have their work cut out for them.
