Volleyball Recap: Eagleton College & Career Academy Finds Home Court Redemption Against Gatlinburg-Pittman

There's no place like home for Eagleton College & Career Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Royals have posted since September 4th.

Eagleton College & Career Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-12, 27-25.

Devrey Davis paced Eagleton College & Career Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Davis got some help from Olivia Lowe and her 18 assists. Lowe was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Eagleton College & Career Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

Coincidentally, Eagleton College & Career Academy and Gatlinburg-Pittman will both be playing Karns the next time they take the court. The Highlanders will host the Beavers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Royals will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
