Basketball Recap: Bunkie Takes a Loss

Bunkie suffered their biggest defeat since December 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 66-40 to the Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Trailblazers are ranked 15th).

Lake Charles College Prep's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayden Sinegal led the charge by putting up 15 points. Those 15 points gave Sinegal a new career-high. Izayha Brown was another key player, posting ten points.

This is the second loss in a row for Bunkie and nudges their season record down to 11-13. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bunkie will take on Vidalia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lake Charles College Prep, they will challenge South Beauregard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
