Volleyball Recap: Independence's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Independence had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Youngker Roughriders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Tuesday.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-19, 25-14.

Fausto Gonzales paced Independence's offense, picking up seven kills. Gonzales got some help from Diego Benitez and his 13 assists.

Independence pushed their record up to 18-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Youngker, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-22.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Independence is set to challenge their familiar foe Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Youngker will take on rival Verrado at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
