Baseball Recap: Caliche Wins Going Away Against Wiley

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Flatirons Academy, Caliche was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Wiley Panthers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. Considering the Buffaloes have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Zander Yost was a standout: he scored three runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Caliche is undefeated when Yost posts two or more runs, but 0-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Kloberdanz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one triple.

Caliche always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Caliche's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Wiley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1.

Coming up, Caliche will venture away from home to challenge Briggsdale at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wiley, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-3 defeat against Flatirons Academy on the 5th.
