Softball Game Preview: Zwolle Hawks vs. Anacoco Indians

The Zwolle Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the Anacoco Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Zwolle's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.

Anacoco's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Thursday: Zwolle hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. Zwolle's pitchers stepped up to hand DeRidder a 12-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won six contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Anacoco fell victim to Sulphur and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 9-0 to the Golden Tors. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Anacoco moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.8 runs. As for Zwolle, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Zwolle might still be hurting after the 14-2 defeat they got from Anacoco in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Zwolle avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
