Softball Recap: Floyd Central Beats Madison for Their Tenth Straight Win

Floyd Central entered their tilt with Madison on Monday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They never let the Cubs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.

Elise Coleman was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Ware, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Floyd Central's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Madison, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Floyd Central will welcome Ballard at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Madison, they are taking a road trip to take on Oldham County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
