Basketball Recap: Cedaredge Skates Past Aspen with Ease

Cedaredge won the last time they faced Aspen and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cedaredge Bruins blew past the Aspen Skiers 58-14. With the Bruins ahead 40-4 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Carley Malinowski went supernova for Cedaredge, going 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessie Black, who posted four points and five steals.

The win (which was Cedaredge's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Aspen, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Cedaredge will welcome Mancos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Aspen, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
