Soccer Game Preview: Sterlington vs. Bossier

Sterlington hasn't had much luck against Bossier recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Sterlington Panthers will look to defend their home pitch against the Bossier Bearkats at 2:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Last Tuesday, Sterlington came up short against Loyola College Prep and fell 3-1.

Meanwhile, Bossier had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They never let the Tigers onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. The Bearkats' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Wilson Alvarado, which was the first he's scored this season.

Bossier's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those eight games. As for Sterlington, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-4.
