Game recap: South Rowan can't stop East Rowan high school football team's winning streak

East Rowan (Salisbury, N.C.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 47-14 victory over South Rowan (China Grove, N.C.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Donte Means in the first quarter, the Mustangs led 27-7 at the half.

East Rowan expanded its lead to 26 points entering the fourth quarter. ER scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Calvin Edwards.

Edwards was the top performer for the Salisbury school. The junior running back ran for three touchdowns.

The Mustangs came in allowing an average of 19.8 points per game this season.



A 21-0 East Rowan victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

East Rowan (6-3) goes up against Statesville in a 3A North Piedmont game matchup next week, while South Rowan (2-7) locks horns with Statesville also in a 3A North Piedmont game.
