Basketball Recap: Upstate Starts off Right with Win over Palmetto

Upstate had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Palmetto Mustangs as they made off with a 57-37 victory.

Upstate was led to victory by Aubrey Mathis and Annie Hendley. Mathis shot 64% from the field en route to 20 points and six rebounds, while Hendley posted eight points along with nine steals and six boards. Another player making a difference was Claire Erkens, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 10 points and five boards.

Coming up, Upstate will face off against Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on December 1. As for Palmetto, they will challenge Greenville Tech Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
