Baseball Recap: Struthers Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Struthers's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 9-6 victory over the East Palestine Bulldogs. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2016.

Eddie Bradley and Michael Scavnicky did most of the damage at the plate: Bradley went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Scavnicky went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Scavnicky has posted over his last three matches. Anthony Pastella was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Struthers' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for East Palestine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season.

Struthers will head out on the road to face off against Ursuline at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Palestine, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Heartland Christian at 5:00 p.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
