Soccer Game Preview: Pearl vs. Meridian

The Pearl Pirates will take on the Meridian Wildcats in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Pearl and eight for Meridian.

Pearl managed to keep up with Brandon until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Pearl lost 6-1 to Brandon.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Meridian faced off against Northwest Rankin on Friday. Meridian came up short against Northwest Rankin, falling 7-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by exactly seven goals.

Pearl's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything went Pearl's way against Meridian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, as Pearl made off with a 6-1 victory. Does Pearl have another victory up their sleeve, or will Meridian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
