Basketball Recap: Brandeis Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Brandeis came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the LEE Volunteers by a score of 61-52. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-42 back in December of 2024.

Leading Brandeis to victory were Abigail Burdette and Mia Ramos. Burdette went 8 of 16 on her way to 21 points and seven rebounds, while Ramos posted 20 points and six boards. Ramos' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Vivian Byerly, who earned eight points and six boards.

Brandeis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Lilah Yanover and Rosanelly Pastrano certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Yanover put up 20 points and three steals, while Pastrano had 20 points. That was a full 38.5% of LEE's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points.

Brandeis has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-16 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 30.6% in those games and 25.6% outside of them. As for LEE, their loss dropped their record down to 20-11.

Brandeis will welcome Churchill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Churchill will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Brandeis surely won't give up without a fight. As for LEE, they will venture away from home to take on SA Roosevelt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. LEE is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.5 points per game this season.
