The Carson Colts will head out on the road to challenge the Redondo Union Sea Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Redondo Union will be up against a hot Carson squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 12. Carson blew past Peninsula 10-3 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Colts have posted against the Panthers since March 9, 2017.
Giselle Pantoja looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Carson let Ashannalee Titialii and Kayleigh Allen run wild. Titialii scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Allen scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Allen posted three hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anaiyah Popoalii, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Meanwhile, Redondo Union was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 6-2 win over Gahr. The victory continues a trend for the Sea Hawks in their matchups with the Gladiators: they've now won three in a row.
Bailey Murray looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Linnea Rasmussen was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Lauren Bizub was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
Carson's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs over those games. As for Redondo Union, their record now sits at 3-1.
Everything went Carson's way against Redondo Union in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Carson made off with a 9-3 victory. Does Carson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Redondo Union turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
