Baseball Game Preview: Scripps Ranch Falcons vs. Cathedral Catholic Dons

For the second straight game, Scripps Ranch will face off against Cathedral Catholic. The Falcons will head out on the road to challenge the Dons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Scripps Ranch is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since March 21st on Tuesday. They came up short against Cathedral Catholic, falling 12-6. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

For Cathedral Catholic's part, Levi Uslander tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Uslander has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Chris LeTourneau was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaden Kuhn, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cathedral Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Cathedral Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Scripps Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.
