The American Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Cooper City Cowboys at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. American is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

American saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 8-5 to Cardinal Gibbons. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashley Ramon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jaidy Sanchez, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Ramon wasn't the only one working in the hit department: American kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. This was only their first loss (out of five games) when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cooper City's offense. They lost 13-0 to East Ridge on Friday.

American's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Cooper City, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
