Softball Recap: Redlands Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Redlands's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Arrowhead Christian Eagles, sneaking past 9-8. The Terriers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Shay Figueroa, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Sofia Akimoto was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Figueroa wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Redlands kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Redlands' win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Arrowhead Christian, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-1.

Redlands wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-7 loss against Palm Desert on the 26th. As for Arrowhead Christian, they have also already played their next match, a 7-5 defeat against Ontario Christian on the 25th.
