Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop dropped their record down to 6-13 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers by a score of 2-1. The Thunderbirds were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Layton Uecker-Hamre, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 23, 2024.

On Minnesota Valley Lutheran's side, Joshua Vander Plas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks.
