Volleyball Game Preview: Salpointe Catholic Lancers vs. Desert View Jaguars + Official Tickets

The Salpointe Catholic Lancers are taking a road trip to face off against the Desert View Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Salpointe Catholic is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Ironwood Ridge just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 3-2.

Salpointe Catholic wouldn't go down easily and took Ironwood Ridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking eight-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-10, 17-25, 24-26, 15-7.

Meanwhile, Desert View posted their closest win since October 4, 2024 on Wednesday. They won by a set and slipped past Sunnyside 3-2.

Salpointe Catholic's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 24-8. As for Desert View, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Salpointe Catholic took their win against Desert View when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
