Soccer Game Preview: Meridian vs. Bellingham

The Meridian Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Bellingham Bayhawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meridian's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Meridian had taken Sedro-Woolley down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Trojans lost 8-0 to the Cubs.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Bellingham was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They fell just short of Squalicum by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Bellingham's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Meridian might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Bellingham in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
