Baseball Recap: Serena Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Serena's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dwight Trojans on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskers of the 5-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

This is the second loss in a row for Serena and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Dwight, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Serena will take on Reed-Custer at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.42 runs per game on average), something the Huskers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Dwight, they will face off against Bloomington Central Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last four games the Saints have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
