Baseball Recap: Bentonville West Sets Scoring Season-High Against Springdale

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bentonville West). They blew past the Springdale Bulldogs 15-6 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Bentonville West got a massive performance out of Jeremiah Jones, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harris Vinson, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

The victory (which was Bentonville West's third in a row) raised their record to 5-7. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Springdale, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bentonville West will face off against Rogers Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The War Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Springdale, they will square off against Siloam Springs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
