Soccer Game Preview: Columbia vs. Brazosport

The Columbia Roughnecks will challenge the Brazosport Exporters at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Columbia is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Needville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bluejays by a score of 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Roughnecks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Bluejays are ranked 130th).

Meanwhile, Brazosport's match on Saturday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They never let Almeta Crawford onto the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Brazosport pushed their record up to 7-5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
