Football Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Jefferson managed to slip by Liberty-Eylau the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bulldogs lost 35-12 to the Leopards on Friday. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Jefferson lost, don't look at Tre Moss. Despite the final result, he rushed for 33 yards and one TD, and also picked up 33 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Lemarion Douglas. Kobin Tomlinson was another major factor on D, making 24 total tackles.

Liberty-Eylau was led to victory by Arian Taylor and Ty Hawkins. Taylor rushed for 145 yards and one score, while Hawkins picked up 38 receiving yards and one touchdown. Taylor's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 115 rushing yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Kaiden Peacock, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Liberty-Eylau, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Coming up, Jefferson will face off against Tatum at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.56 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Liberty-Eylau, they will challenge Sabine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Leopards will be up against the Cardinals' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
